Thirty six years ago the United States Supreme Court legalized abortion at any stage and for any reason in all fifty states. Since that fateful decision more than 50 million innocent babies’ lives have been ended. Just as many women, men and families have been harmed due to the consequences of that judicial decision. We took this time to stand together as a community and to shine a light on the physical, emotional and moral damage legalized abortion has caused in our homes, our families, our churches, our community and our nation.
On January 17th we marched downtown from Indiana Bank and Trust to City Hall to pay homage to the more then 50 million innocent unborn lives who have been ended by the legalization of abortion by the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973.
Afterwards, we will held a rally inside the Columbus City Hall where we prayed for all those affected by abortion. We heard from Senator Greg Walker who provided a legislative update. Liz Carl, a victim of date rape, who chose to give her baby life shared her story. Incoming Bartholomew County Right to Life President Aaron Hankins spoke about what we can do locally to help prevent abortion.
This was a great opportunity to show the city of Columbus the strength of our commitment to the Right to Life cause
